Ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League quarter-final second-leg against PSG, one of their all-time greatest players made something of a ludicrous statement about the level of popularity they enjoy.
Mike Summerbee appeared on BT Sport to preview City’s vital European showdown with their French foes, and seemed to think everyone in the country was backing his boys in blue.
Showing a complete disregard for the tribal nature of English football, he even suggested that the club’s red neighbours would be roaring the Citizens on. As you see, Rio Ferdinand wasn’t having any of it.
