The world’s top MMA reporter has bad news about Conor McGregor’s retirement

'It isn't a joke, troll job or hoax of any kind'

Kevin Beirne

Conor McGregor’s time in the UFC appears to be over.

The Irishman shared a tweet on Tuesday night announcing his retirement, but most of us just dismissed it as an attempted troll by the most popular MMA fighter in the world.

At just 27-years-old, it would seem that McGregor has much more to give but perhaps the recent events in Dublin where a Portuguese fighter died from injuries sustained in the cage has changed his mind.

The Notorious was present that night, and it was in fact an SBG team-mate of his who was facing the Portuguese fighter.

Perhaps the most trustworthy journalist in all of MMA, Ariel Helwani, is now reporting that Conor McGregor’s retirement announcement is legitimate, and not a hoax of any kind.

We’ll update you with more as we get it.
