Manchester City are so determined to reach the pinnacle of European club competition that they’re willing to invest record amounts to achieve that goal.

According to the Mirror, the Etihad club’s Abu Dhabi owners have set aside £150m to secure just three players.

The targets are Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, who will cost in the region of £65m, £40m and £45m respectively.

Angel City

If the Times are to be believed, City are also interested in a player somewhat closer to home – Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria.

The Argentine has experienced a decidedly underwhelming first season at Old Trafford and was rumoured to be off.

But even if United were to sell, they’d be loathed to do business with City, especially with PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona also interested.

It’s not all about City, you know. Their relatively quiet neighbours are also looking to splash the cash.

United are after bolstering the centre of their defence and Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos is an option, say the Star.

This story is definitely legitimate and United’s name is in no way being used to get Ramos a better deal at the Bernabeu, honest.
