Adam Lallana has admitted that he feels for Raheem Sterling amidst growing speculation about the youngster’s future…
Sterling has been linked with various clubs, with increasing speculation that he’s angling for a move to Manchester City. But Lallana has come to the defence of his Liverpool teammate.
“I do have sympathy for him. He just wants to get on with his football and play. He’s still got two years left on his contract so that speaks for itself, really,” said Lallana.
The former Southampton man has nothing but praise for his fellow England international, and even went as far as affording his pal an unprecedented THREE ‘tops’.
“I’m sure you guys talk about him possibly leaving or staying but I know him as a team-mate and he’s a top, top, top lad. Just a great guy.”
Speaking to the Telegraph, Lallana praised Sterling’s attitude and general demeanour.
“He’s just like any other young, enthusiastic footballer. Plays with a smile on his face on the pitch and in training. You just hope he’s on your team otherwise he’ll end up running rings around you.”
We suppose that all depends on whether Liverpool receive a top, top, top bid for the wantaway winger.
