Floyd Mayweather’s dad made a big claim about the rumoured Conor McGregor fight

First it was denied, now this...

These Floyd Mayweather- Conor McGregor superfight rumours just won’t die, will they?

Only a matter of days ago, a source in McGregor’s camp reportedly quashed stories that the pair were set to meet.

Now though, Mayweather’s dad appears to have stirred things up again, claiming his son *will* be taking on the Irishman at some point in the future.

“I’m very sure he’ll [ Floyd Mayweather Jr ] be fighting when it’s time.

“He told me he was going to take another fight against some MMA fighter. We don’t care about that man, we’ll beat the hell out of that man.

“I haven’t seen the guy but all I got to do is take a good look at him and I can tell you my son can whoop him. He’s dead. He’s a dead man.

“I thought that’s what they’re going to do. I don’t know when it’s going to come round but it will be pretty soon. It won’t be that long.”

Convinced? No, neither are we.

McGregor appears destined for a rematch with Nate Diaz in the months ahead, so for now at least, we’re taking Mayweather Senior’s words with a pinch of salt.
