Sky News presenter Eamonn Holmes is under fire today after seeming to draw a comparison between Tuesday night’s assault on the Man United players’ bus at Upton Park to the Hillsborough disaster.
Holmes was taking part in a discussion on the incident, when he said: “This is going back to the ’70s and to the ’80s, the type of thing you were seeing that was bad about Hillsborough, for instance.”
When JOE reached out to Sky News for a comment, Holmes said through a spokesperson:
“Obviously, there is no comparison between Hillsborough and the scenes we saw at West Ham last night. I apologise if anyone thought I was making that connection.”
Unsurprisingly, people are outraged at the remarks from Manchester United fan Holmes.
There have been calls for the presenter to apologise, and even for Sky to sack him.
Except for Eamonn Holmes being a united fan I quite liked him but this slur on Hillsborough has got to be the last straw, get rid him SkyITV

What Eamonn Holmes has demonstrated is that often these "TV presenters" are just that and are vacuous behind the facade
