Watford are letting Quique Sanchez Flores go and football fans are not happy

Conan Doherty

Quique Sanchez Flores is off. Watford don’t need him anyway.

One year, one really impressive season and the Spaniard is departing Vicarage Road.

The newly-promoted outfit sit 13th in the league with one game remaining, joint with Everton.

The former Atletico and Valencia manager took over from Slaviša Jokanović in what was initially seen as  a controversial move by the club but Sanchez Flores took Watford onto a whole new level.

Sunday’s game against Sunderland, however, will be his last in charge.

“The club and me don’t have the same point of view about the season,” the manager said ahead of this weekend’s game.

“We don’t have the necessary conditions to activate the clause to renew my contract so I will leave Watford as a consequence.

“I felt completely happy with this year and I have enjoyed this experience.”

As you can imagine, it didn’t go down too well with Hornets fans or just football fans.
