There’s a time and a fucking place.
After a thrilling Europa League campaign which included some of the most glowing highlights of Jurgen Klopp’s first season at Anfield, Liverpool failed at the final hurdle and lost 3-1 to Sevilla.
The players in red were understandably devastated at the final whistle, as were the thousands of Scouse fans in the stands who had travelled in great numbers for what they hoped would be a night of glory.
Alas it wasn’t to be and the mood at the end of the game was despondent. Philippe Coutinho was one of the players with tears welling up in his eyes and he obviously just wanted to get off the pitch as soon as possible.
But it didn’t seem to bother one fan, who was far more interested in getting a keepsake selfie with the player than anything else. He accosted the young Brazilian and asked for a cheery selfie on his phone.
Somehow Coutinho allowed the photo to be taken, although he couldn’t muster a smile. Any players would have told the opportunistic idiot to fuck off and leave them alone, and they’d have every right…
