But when it comes to a certain Real Madrid defender, it seems plenty of people are quite happy to point the finger…

Yes, it’s safe to say behaviour of Portuguese defender Pepe didn’t go down too well with those that watched him and his Real Madrid teammates win the club’s 11th European Cup on Saturday night.

Gary Lineker, presenting BT Sports coverage of the game in Milan, also joined in with the masses of anti-Pepe tweets by adding the following…

Judging by the number of retweets it clocked up, it’s safe to say plenty of people agreed with his blunt assessment.

And just in case we were left in any doubt of his feelings about the centre-half, Lineker followed his original tweet with this one, an hour later…

As was the case in Lisbon in 2014, Real Madrid got the better of their city rivals. With the match finishing in penalties, Juanfran missed Atleti’s fourth spot-kick, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo to win the match.

After a relatively quiet match by his own standards, Ronaldo was never going to miss.
