Cristiano Ronaldo snubs shirt swap from Iceland captain after final whistle

Stay classy, Ronny.

Cristiano Ronaldo had other thoughts scrambling through his mind.

Try as he might, the Portugal talisman could not secure his side three points in their Euro 2016 opener.

Ronaldo had 11 cracks at the Icelandic goal and his teammates tried their luck another 15 times but they could only score once, through Nani. It looked like it might be enough until Iceland hit back and held out for a 1-1 draw.

The Real Madrid forward cut an unhappy figure in the closing stages and tramped after the referee when the final whistle blew. Ronaldo had no time for a jersey swap request from Iceland captain Aron Gunnarsson. He waved away Gunnarsson and walked off talking to himself.

The Cardiff City player had a stormer for his country, winning four headers, two tackles, making two clearances and coming up with two crucial interceptions.

Maybe Gunarsson can try again when the two sides meet in the final…
