These Irish fans don’t look at all nervous about their crucial clash with Italy

Nerves? What nerves?

Simon Lloyd

There’s a nervy night in store for the Irish.

With just one point to show from their opening two matches against Sweden and Belgium, they’re desperately in need of a win against Italy if they’re to go beyond Euro 2016’s group stage. Added to that, the Italians – not fancied by many before the tournament started – are the only side left with a 100% record.

Ahead of the match, Ireland supporters gathered in the streets of Lille and, judging by this, the nerves hadn’t quite kicked in just yet.

Admittedly, we’ve not seen too many football fans prepare for a big game by skimming across a city centre water feature on a giant inflatable turtle before,  but hey – each to their own.
