Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated scoring the winner against Croatia… despite not scoring

Oh, Ronnie.

Oh Ronnie.

You are truly one of the best footballers of all time, maybe even the best of all time, but you do make us laugh sometimes.

After what was certainly the most boring match of EURO 2016, and one of the most boring European Championship matches in recent memory, Portugal scored a dramatic 117th minute winner against Croatia.

Croatia were favourites going into the match, but they failed to put in a display matching the one that saw them beat Spain in the group stages.

After hitting the post, Portugal countered against Croatia and went 1-0 up, with Renato Sanches storming up the pitch, laying it off to Nani, who crossed to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo took a shot, which was saved by the keeper, and eventually knocked in by Ricardo Quaresma.

Despite not actually scoring the goal, Ronaldo ran off to celebrate on his own while Quaresma ran to the Portugal fans to celebrate his goal.

Then most of the rest of the team joined him… except Ronaldo, who continued to celebrate on his own, eventually being joined by Nani and Pepe.

Come on, Ronnie. Join in.

Portugal have become the third team through to the quater-finals.
