Ryan Giggs ‘forgets’ to mention David Moyes in his statement

Accidentally on purpose?

Ryan Giggs is no longer Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs.

After weeks of speculation, the Welshman confirmed what most of us suspected and announced that he’d decided to leave the club after nearly three decades in a lengthy statement.

In that statement, Giggs made a point of congratulating Jose Mourinho on being appointed as the club’s new manager and thanked almost everyone that had been a part of his 29 years at the club. *Almost* everyone…

Having acknowledged the contribution made by Sir Aex Ferguson to his career, Giggs also thanked Louis van Gaal – alongside whom he worked as Assistant Manager for the last two seasons. But it was significant that United’s former number eleven ‘forgot’ to mention David Moyes – a point quickly picked up on by those that had read the statement.

A bit harsh, maybe? Without Moyes doing such a spectacularly bad job as United manager, Giggs would have absolutely zero managerial experience by now. At least he got to take over for a few games before Louis van Gaal arrived.

Poor old Moyesey, eh?

Giggs indicated in the statement that he does intend to step into management at some point in the future, although adds that he hasn’t made any immediate plans.
