There’s something about Roma kits that just work.
Even when the football is bad, they’re still a joy to watch because of those beautiful imperial purple and golden yellow shirts that just get us going. And when the football is good? Even better.
Back in the days of Gabriel Batistuta and Marco Delvecchio, I Giallorossi won us over with their stylish play and their even more stylish kits – and we’ve been obsessed with the Roma gear ever since.
With the club set for Champions League action yet again next season (assuming they negotiate their way through a potentially tricky play-off in August) and so they will need to be dressed for the occasion.
We’re big fans of praising kit makers for knowing when to stick with a winning formula, as change for change’s sake has given us countless horrendous third kits over the years – not to mention those dreadful Everton V-necks.
So we’re big fans of the understated, clean look Roma will be sporting next year.
It’s a fittingly historic design for Francesco Totti’s last season as a player, as he announced his plans to retire this time next year.
And it’s not a surprise, considering the fact their kits are universally loved, to see we’re not the only ones fawning over it.
Sometimes less is more.

But still, there are those who are somehow growing tired of it.
Roma have the same home kit every season, no new style whatsoever.

You’ll never know what you had, ’til it’s gone…
