Game of Thrones fans’ McDonald’s habit blamed for ruining Jon Snow’s latest play

Not a good look

The popularity of Game of Thrones has been great news for its stars, attracting new fans to their other projects.

But for Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow in the TV show, increased popularity has come with its downsides.

Harington is currently starring in a West End performance of Christopher Marlowe play ‘Dr Faustus’.

A handful of Game of Thrones fans came along to a recent performance, but producer and critic Richard Jordan has blamed them for their part in what he describes as ‘possibly the worst West End audience I have ever encountered.’

‘…a couple saw nothing wrong in producing from their bag a box of McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets and a large side of fries,’ Jordan writes in The Stage.

‘The couple to my left ate their way through a large tub of popcorn during Act I, while the couple on my right chomped through a packet of crisps,’ he added.

‘What amazed me most was this audience, many of them Game of Thrones fans, could see nothing wrong in talking, eating and taking pictures throughout the show – or complaining when asked to stop.’

Harington is not the only GoT actor to earn a big West End role, and indeed some of the cast had theatre experience before beginning work on the HBO series.
