If you saw much of Hector Bellerin last season, you’ll know that he was well deserving of his spot on the Premier League’s Team of the Year.
The pacy right back was one of Arsenal’s stand-out performers last season and even worked his way into the Spanish Euro 2016 squad as a result.
Arsenal fans clearly hold their Barcelona-born defender close to their hearts, so when fellow right-back Dani Alves left the Nou Camp for Juventus earlier in the summer, you can imagine that Gooners started to fear their man was about to be prised from their grasp by his hometown team – just when his promising career at The Emirates was in its infancy.
Bad news indeed…. but things can *always* be worse.
Reports from Spain (and at this point they are just that – ‘reports’), have claimed that Bellerin *would* be open to leaving North London. But not for a return to Catlunya, but for a move up the M6 to Manchester City.
Monday’s Mundo Deportivo features quotes from a source close to Bellerin who states that he is content with his current club although he would also be open to working with Pep Guardiola at City.
 “He is happy at Arsenal… but the option of City exists, it pleases him and what’s more, Pep is there.”
If we’re being honest, there doesn’t seem to be much here to be overly concerned about from an Arsenal supporter’s point of view… but that’s still not stopped them from being a little spooked.

While many were fearful of a City move for the Spaniard, lots felt that their domestic rivals’ rumoured plans of luring him north were ambitious and destined to fail.
