Jon Jones’ older brother popped for positive drugs test

Bad month for the family

Patrick McCarry

The Jones family may want to sleep the rest of July 2016 off.

Two weeks after UFC interim light heavyweight champion Jon failed a drugs test and was subsequently pulled from UFC 200, his older brother has fallen afoul of testers.

Colts defensive lineman Arthur Jones will miss four games of the 2016/17 season after a violation of the NFL’s policy on PEDs, the franchise has announced.

Arthur, who also has a younger brother Chandler Jones (Arizona Cardinals) playing in the NFL, was signed to a five-year, $33 million contract in 2014 but has only played nine times for the Colts. He missed most of 2015 with an ankle injury.

Barring any other suspensions, violations or injury, his season should start in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears.

Jon Jones, who had been set to take on Daniel Cormier in the UFC 200 main event, has been temporarily suspended after his A and B samples both came back positive following USADA tests.

He is believed to have missed out on a record UFC payday after being pulled from the card in the light of his drug violation.
