“I can’t think of a better way to start the weekend!”
Sky Sports favourite Jeff Stelling has explained how his Friday Night Football show alongside new signing (and old Countdown pal) Rachel Riley will work. The pair kickoff their new gig on August 19, and as the veteran presenter explains, it will be pretty different from the standard Sky Sports fare.
“We’ve got ten games this season. We kick off with Manchester United vs Southampton, the next game is Chelsea vs Liverpool – so big, big games,” gushed Stelling.
“The idea really is to take on a slightly lighter touch to football,” explained the Soccer Saturday man, before adding, “I don’t want anyone to think it’s going to be a comedy show because it’s not, but football is meant to be fun, it’s meant to be entertainment!”
“So they’ll be big elements of that. But the star of the show will still be the game, so we’ll be treating it seriously as well.”
Our Jeff also went on the explain that each show will be over FOUR hours long, and that the quite remarkable Chris Kamara would also feature.
“6.30 Friday nights, through to 10.45. Rachel’s with me, and we have a big panel as well. Chris Kamara will be live at the ground – I can’t think of a better way to start the weekend!”
We look forward to it, big man…
