As we saw at Wembley last weekend, Liverpool supporters still hold a special place in their hearts for Luis Suarez.
Now a Barcelona player, the Uruguayan played a key role in the Liverpool side that so nearly ended their wait for a league title in 2014.
That summer, Suarez left the club for Spain, leaving a void that’s not really been filled in the time since.
But fear not, Liverpool fans – according to Trevor Sinclair, Jurgen Klopp might just have solved the problem.
With the German preparing for his first full season at the helm at Anfield, Sinclair told Sky Sports News on Thursday that he felt new signing Sadio Mane was similar to Liverpool’s former number seven. And just in case anyone missed it, he also said something similar to the BBC, explaining that his playing style is comparable to that of Suarez.
“Sadio Mane is an excellent signing who can just ghost past defenders and he reminds me a little bit of Luis Suarez. Liverpool look like they mean business – they blew away some top teams under Klopp last season and he has had a bit more time with the players now to help them find some consistency.”
Clearly, Mane has lots to do if he is to reach the kind of level that Suarez did during his stint on Merseyside. Many don’t seem too convinced that the Senegalese international has what it takes, either…

Poor Trevor. As if being subjected to this from Steve McClaren hadn’t made his day difficult enough.
