BT Sport are going head-to-head with Sky Sports’ flagship show, Soccer Saturday, this year.
It’s a brave move, Jeff Stelling is a well-loved presenter, and the chemistry of the panel and reporters, including cult heroes Chris Kamara, Paul Merson and Matt Le Tissier, is such a vital element of its success, it’s going to be difficult for BT Sport to recreate that.
But on the first day of the season, a number of people were willing to give it a chance.

The panel for BT Sport Score includes Harry Redknapp, Harry Kewell, John Hartson and Robbie Savage, all sat on a really, really long sofa.

Early reaction has not been the best.
As if BT Sport are going up against Geoff and the boys with this lot #allthebest https://t.co/8YDwDgviax

BT Sport Score has been on for 2 minutes and it's already mediocre.

The show also has other presenters who pitch in from different locations.
Ten presenters and counting in the BT Sport Score studio. Err…

A number of people pointed out that as well as having a really, really long sofa, the studio itself is massive.

Some people pointed out that the panel could struggle to match the chemistry of the team on Soccer Saturday.
gonna have a little watch of BT Sport Score, can't see it lasting long tho and be watching Jeff and the boys soon.

Clearly BT Sport are going for a different approach, which is a brave move, but one that could work if they get it right. The new approach has been met with positive reaction from some fans.
Early impressions of new BT Sport Score – not as terrible as first thought. Different to Soccer Saturday – not necessarily in a bad way.
