Ultimate Pokemon Go cheat sheet shows which Pokemon yours are strong and weak against

It will make you a much stronger trainer...

Ben Kenyon

If you watched the 90s Pokemon cartoon on SMTV you’ll remember the lyrics “I wanna be the very best. Like no one ever was” all too well.

Well that shit still stands. You might have grown up, moved out of your mum’s house and currently hold down a respectable job, but that doesn’t mean you can’t aspire to be the best mid-twenties Pokemon trainer there ever was.

Any self-respecting Pokemon trainer for that matter wants to boss it on the game, catch every single Pokemon and live out all their childhood fantasies in glorious augmented reality.

But if you want to get ahead it’s worth doing some research and cutting some corners.

Tips and tricks (some bullshit and others more legit) are flying around all over the place – like this sneaky incense trick to snare rare Pokemon in the wild.

Yet there’s one fundamental that you should probably grasp which will automatically make you a better trainer.

You need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the Pokemon that you’re using to battle – and even more so the types of Pokemon that you come up against to fight or tame.

If you’re new to the game and weren’t around in the 90s when this shit first dropped, then there are 18 different types of Pokemon.

These include Normal, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Fire, Grass, Water, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Dark and Fairy.

Obviously each type has different strengths and weaknesses against certain types of Pokemon – unsurprisingly Water types like Blastoise are pretty handy against Fire types like Charizard, and so on.

But instead of going in blind and trying in vain to rough up a Bug-type Caterpie with a Steel-type Magneton, you need to get clued up about what beats what.

That’s where this cheat sheet from Pokemon Go Database comes in incredibly handy when trying to figure out which Pokemon to fight with.

Each type can either have a large, normal or even no effect at all. This compendious document lays it all out so you can make a quick judgement call on your adversaries strengths and weaknesses and how your own Pokémon measure up against others.

Store it on your phone, print it off and stick it in your pocket or even memorise the whole damn thing if you have to. It’s worth taking it everywhere you go.
