Football fans are divided 50/50 on whether they love or hate Chris Sutton as a pundit

Paul Moore

He’s certainly memorable.

There’s a general perception that when it comes to TV pundits, audiences want someone that doesn’t mince their words or speak in clichés. Before the cameras rollTV producers must be hoping that their on-screen talent are opinionated, informative, controversial but never boring.

Bearing this in mind, former Celtic, Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton certainly fits the description because he has created quite the online stir after his recent appearance on Match of the Day 2. Sutton is no stranger to being on camera, he has frequently done work for Setanta/Eir, but the larger audience of MOTD2 has created a bigger reaction.

In one camp, there are people that absolutely love his no-nonsense, direct and dry delivery. On the other, well, they also made their opinions known.

Here’s the view of Sutton and supporters (the new SAS if you will)…

Football is a game of opinions though and he has upset some fans with his.

The man himself seems to be loving his punditry role though. We will definitely be tuned in next week.
