The new season of South Park is lewd, crude and more dangerous than ever

South Park came back with a bang this week, with the opening episode of season 20 taking aim at… well everyone really.

Fresh off a mind bending season 19, where the citizens of South Park somehow found themselves at war with sponsored ads, this time around Trey Parker and Matt Stone are going in on the Presidential election.

And by going in, we mean going in. This stuff is merciless. In the world of South Park, it isn’t a battle between Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump. This is a straight up choice between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.

Ouch.

The show also found time to take a few jabs at the ongoing protest movement in NFL right now.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been refusing to stand for the US National Anthem before games of late, saying he would not “show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of colour.”

A number of Kaepernick’s NFL colleagues have shown their support for his stance in recent days, but he wasn’t getting any sympathy from the folks at South Park who took aim at people who pay attention to what’s happening around sports as opposed to the sports themselves.

As the clip below will show you, the citizens of South Park decided standing to sing an alternative version of the national anthem dedicated to Kaepernick in the new episode. It starts out as a halfway decent tribute before turning into something else entirely…
