Sepp Blatter announced that he plans to finally step down as Dark Lord of the Sith Fifa President, but the 79 year old has no plans to settle into comfortable retirement.
Blatter hopes to become a radio journalist, saying: “I think radio is the most popular form of information.” (Just wait until he discovers the internet).
The Swiss native, who was ambushed at a recent FIFA news conference, says his radio show would focus on his hobbies, “geography and politics”.
And incredibly he has already got one offer lined up, as British station Radio Yorkshire has offered the FIFA President a summer work placement.
“If he is serious about wanting to be a radio journalist, then there is not a more serious place to learn than here at Radio Yorkshire,” the station’s director Sam Brydges said, quite possibly with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, while winking deliriously, elbow nudging and sniggering.
Brydges made the offer during an interview with former Leeds and Chelsea chairman Ken Bates, who added: “What you are offering is a job placement opportunity for two weeks, here, at Elland Road and he can find out how to be a proper broadcaster, and perhaps how to answer questions and commentate clearly and openly without confusing the audience.
“I believe Sam has even generously offered to provide him with accommodation in case he can’t afford to pay for his own for the two weeks in Leeds.”
We reckon he can afford to pay his own way, Ken. Whether he takes the “offer” is another matter.
