That’s it. The future is NOW. Demand your hoverboard and entire meals in pill form, prepare for Skynet to take control of the world’s nuclear arsenals any minute now.
We now live in a world where a humble football match has play stopped a after a drone was spotted flying above Valley Parade.
The stadium announcer confirmed play would be halted until the drone could be removed and the players were taken from the field by the referee.
The game has been paused for the time being. A drone has been spotted hovering in the air above the pitch. (0-0) #BCAFC

The match was eventually restarted with the score at 0-0.
The home side then took the lead with a goal from James Meredith, and one Rovers fan responded the only way Twitter knows how:

But if you thought the ref was being over-cautious by taking the players from the field, then have a look at this clip from last December when downhill skiing champion Marcel Hirscher had a lucky escape when a drone crashed down on to the snow just behind him at Madonna di Campiglio in Italy.
Hirscher appeared not to notice what had happened just behind him and carried on with his slalom run, but afterwards said: “This is horrible. This can never happen again. This can be a serious injury.”
