Filipe Luis received some sympathy from fans on Instagram last night, but Luis Suarez has told him to get over it.
The Atletico Madrid defender was left with a nasty-looking scar after a tangle with Suarez during the game at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night where both sides left with a point after a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
Barcelona took the lead through Ivan Rakitic, but were pegged back in the second-half thanks to a goal from Angel Correa. During the game, Suarez and Luis went for a loose ball, and Suarez landed his studs on the Brazilian’s right foot.
Luis still wasn’t happy about the incident following the game, and posted his wound on Instagram, writing: “a good job he never touched me.”
This is pretty gross.
In fairness to Suarez, he didn’t deny connecting with the former Chelsea defender. Instead he essentially told Luis to get over it when asked about the incident by Spanish media outlet AS.
“This is football,” Suarez said following the game.
“It’s a man’s game and what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch. You can’t go around making a circus every time something happens. This is football. I repeat, it’s for men.”
“It’s a man’s game.”
