The youngster has already made his debut for the Under-20s.

In case you hadn’t heard, Celtic gave a 13-year-old, yes, a 13-year-old, his Under-20s debut on Monday night.

Karamoko Dembélé looked noticeably smaller than those around him – probably because he’s an actual child – but impressed in the victory over Hearts’ development squad.

Dembélé is the youngest player we’ve seen who is anywhere even remotely close to the first-team of a major European club.

And, because we know maths is hard, we’ve decided to put into context just how young he is.

1. He was born after the release of Blur’s album ’13’

2. He was born the same year as the release of Evan Rachel Wood film Thirteen

3. He was born the same year that David Beckham scored his 13th England goal, a penalty against Macedonia

4. He was born after Michael Ballack scored Germany’s winner in the 2002 World Cup semi-final, while wearing the number 13

5. Avril Lavigne was one of the world’s best-selling musicians when Dembélé was born

6. Current Celtic defender Kolo Touré had already made his Premier League debut

7. Vladimir Putin was already President of Russia when he was born (though Putin had a short break from the role when Dembélé was a kid)

8. He’s never had the pleasure of looking forward to an album release from Savage Garden, as they broke up in 2001

9. West Ham wonderkid Reece Oxford had already started primary school when Dembélé came into this world

10. The Hacienda nightclub had already been shut for more than half a decade

11. The American Pie franchise was already two films old, with the third coming out in the year Dembélé was born

12. Prince Harry was already of legal drinking age

13. Depending on what month of the year he was born, we may have still had Jobs, Hope and Cash
