To those of you complaining about the lack of midweek Champions League and Premier League football , don’t forget that Tuesday night saw several matches in the EFL Trophy.
One of those matches saw Accrington Stanley record a comortable 4-1 win away at Chesterfield – a result that will surely have delighted the travelling support… even if hardly any of them bothered to make the trip over the Pennines.
As pointed out by the table below, it appears that just two away supporters made the trip to the Proact Stadium to back their boys.

Was it a typo? Who knows. At least the club’s official account managed to see the funny side of it, suggesting the actual number of away supporters was at least treble the size of this figure.
Reports of an away following of 2 at Chesterfield last night are untrue. We counted at least 6…

It’s not the first time that Accrington Stanley’s official Twitter account has made headlines in recent months.
In August, someone presumably in charge of the account accidentally (at least we *think* it was accidental) shared this holiday snap with the club’s 40,000 Twitter followers.
There you go. A whole story about Accrington Stanley with absolutely no mention of that 1980s milk advert. Well done us.
