Good news for fans of Peaky Blinders.

Cillian Murphy, the main man in the Birmingham based crime drama, has confirmed that filming for the fourth series will begin in March. The last series began filming in January 2016 and then was back on our screens in May.

So, with this timeline, we could be looking at a new series in 2017 – happy days!

He was speaking to The Birmingham Mail when he said, “We start shooting the next series next March, I think.”

The popular actor added, “The success of it is down to really great writing. People in America love it, people in Australia love it, people in Poland love it – it’s mad.”

The series is so popular that rumours of a movie spinoff won’t stop popping up. But while Murphy seems intrigued by the idea, he appears to be in no rush.

Speaking to Deadline earlier this year, he said: “I’m sort of ambivalent about it. I’m sort of like, ‘Eh, yeah, I don’t know, I’m not sure’.

“I love the idea sort of theoretically, but it has to come at the right time, you know? You can’t alienate the beautiful democratic thing of television where everyone just watches it.”

If you haven’t watched the show yet you should really sort that out. It doesn’t take too long to get into and it’s readily available on Netflix.
