Nicklas Bendtner might be roundly mocked by fans of his former club Arsenal, but the Danish striker thrives on this kind of treatment.
The 27-year-old played a starring role in the German Super Cup as Wolfsburg saw off the seemingly unstoppable Bayern Munich machine.
Not content with scoring an 89th-minute equaliser, he also tucked away the winning penalty to seal a dream start to the new season.

Bendtner has developed a habit of being on the winning side when it matters, winning three trophies in as many years before this season.
Perhaps Arsenal’s fans won’t be as quick to take the mickey on Twitter in future.
