Tiger King was a revelation when it hit Netflix at the start of lockdown
For a brief period of time, before we realised the true extent of the hellscape in which we were living and were inundated with the death tolls that laid bare the extent of the government’s mishandling of the pandemic, we all just sat there bewildered and laughing at Joe Exotic and his cohort.
His gang of eclectic animal handlers, their extraordinary and often grim lives, and his almost literally life and death rivalry with counterpart Carole Baskin had us edges of our seats.
Well, despite the fact that – SPOILER ALERT – Joe Exotic is currently behind bars, it has been reported that Netflix are looking to bring back Tiger King for a second season.
According to report by The Sun, Exotic – real name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage – has agreed to take part with a view of clearing his name.
His husband, Dillon Passage and Jeff Lowe, another ‘star’ of the show, have also agreed to rejoin the cast.
It’s reported that Carole Baskin, who became one of the most memed people on earth when the show was at the height of its popularity, is also said to be interested in returning, but only at the right price.
Baskin apparently wants as much as $1 million (roughly £763,000) to take part in the show, which she will then reinvest back into her Big Cat Sanctuary.
Earlier this year, Baskin made further headlines after it had been confirmed that she had assumed control of Exotic’s zoo, after he failed to pay her $1m in copyright and trademark suits.
