Man forced off flight for wearing thong as face mask

A man has claimed he was “banned” from United Airlines flights after he wore a thong as a face mask during a recent flight.

Cape Coral resident Adam Jenne was on a Washington bound flight on December 15. Believing that face masks don’t make a difference, Jenne decided to instead dress his face in a bright red thong.

Speaking to Fox News, Jenne said it was a joke – but did anyone really laugh?

He said: “There’s nothing more absurd than having to wear a mask until I get to cruising altitude so that I can order Tito’s by the double and snack on pretzels.

“And illustrating that absurdity by wearing women’s underwear on my face sounds perfect.”

He continued talking on the subject with NBC, saying that: “It’s all nonsense, it’s all nonsense.

“COVID doesn’t know that we’re at cruising altitude. It’s stupid. The whole thing is theatre.”

Jenne continued to explain that this isn’t even the first time he’s pulled such a stunt – apparently, he’s worn a thong as a face mask around two dozen times.

“Every single flight has been met with different reactions from the flight crew,” he said.

“Some with a wild appreciation, others confrontational.”

However this issue was not addressed as quickly as you might think, as he explained: “people started following, just filing off the plane, maybe a dozen, something like that”.

In response, a spokesperson for United Airlines said: “The customer clearly wasn’t in compliance with the federal mask mandate and we appreciate that our team addressed the issue on the ground prior to takeoff, avoiding any potential disruptions [in] the air.”

Naturally, the anti-masker plans to pull the stunt again. He must have a lot of time on his hands – and an unusual amount of spare thongs.
