We are in the midst of a deadly pandemic
As many as 60,000 people have died as a result of coronavirus in the United Kingdom. There’s a very good chance that someone you know has been affected by this virus in one way or another, and it must be taken seriously.
Despite this, and thanks in part to the British government’s consistent mixed messaging on the matter, many people are going about life as if things are business as usual.
Lounging at the beach with family and friends, going to impromptu festivals in the park, attending outdoor raves in their neighbourhood – these are just some of the activities that people have been spotted doing recently.
None of this would be an issue if things were normal, but things are not normal.
People are acting as though 60,000 people haven't died in the UK during a pandemic.
From packed beaches to illegal raves – you don't need an eye test to see lockdown has broken. pic.twitter.com/XQRchJYelv
