These devastated families are holding the government to account
The United Kingdom’s death toll associated with coronavirus now sits officially at over 37,000, though ONS figures state that excess deaths are now approaching something closer to 60,000.
Tens of thousands of people have died in the UK that should not have died, and perhaps would not have died had the country’s government acted with more urgency in doing all it could to contain the spread of the virus.
A group called ‘Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK’ is now seeking justice from the government for its inaction and inability to provide adequate care to people vulnerable to this deadly virus.
We spoke to one of its co-founders about their drive to demand justice for those who died unnecessarily due to Covid-19.
“Before he died, I promised my dad that we would try to establish any mistakes that the government made and hold them to account."
