An 11-year-old boy whose English is very limited has gone missing after he went to play football in a nearby park yesterday (December 1).

Mohammed Khan was last seen in Deptford, south London at around 4pm on November 30. Mohammed is from Afghanistan and arrived a month ago with limited English; his first language is Pashto.

Kahn reportedly left his home to play football in a nearby park but after he did not return, police were called and officers began searching the surrounding area.

Missing

A high risk missing person investigation was launched in response.

Kahn is described as 4 “11, with short dark hair and was last seen wearing black jeans, a black puffer jacket and a black hat with the Chicago Bulls logo on it.

“As we enter the second night since Mohammed went missing, we are growing increasingly concerned,” said acting Detective Inspector Lara Pink.

She continued: “He is in an unfamiliar country and doesn’t speak much English. He has only recently arrived in Deptford and won’t know his way around.

“While we are keeping an open mind, we cannot rule out that Mohammed has come into contact with people who may wish him harm and it is important that anyone with any information about his whereabouts comes forward.”

Anyone to see Kahn is to call 999 immediately, citing the reference 7180/01DEC, while people with relevant information should call 101 or crime stoppers on 0800 555 111 for anonymous tips.
