The police now have 16k volunteers for the manhunt

The police mugshot of a wanted man has gone viral – but not for the reasons you might think.

West Yorkshire Police, and now the rest of the nation is hunting for the same man but for very different reasons. While the police shared Jonathan Cahill’s mugshot in the hopes of getting information, the internet has branded him 2022’s hot felon.

HOt

You might remember a similar case from the US in 2014 where the mugshot of Jeremy Meeks gained worldwide attention becoming the OG ‘hot felon’. Meeks was later signed to White Cross Management and became a model.

He walked in New York Fashion Week for Phillip Plein, appeared in numerous luxury campaigns, and now boasts a humble 1.6 million followers on Instagram.

Anyway, back to this year’s addition to the hot felon hall of fame.

The 37-year-old, wherever he may be, has probably clocked a few of the comments given there are 16,000 of them beneath Yorkshire police’s initial post and his mugshot is ricocheting all over the internet.

Cahill, who is said to stand around 6ft and is of medium build, is wanted on recall to prison after breaching the terms of his release. He was released last September after serving a sentence for burglary.

The police might want to check this lady’s house, as she wrote beneath the post: “Christ almighty he can hide under my bed….”

Stuart noted that police have thousands of volunteers: “Should be easy to find, half the women in West Yorkshire will be chasing him after reading these comments.”

Stephanie, meanwhile, has a master plan: “What a giggle fest, I must admit I’ve paid this post slightly more attention than usual, if I find him I’ll ring the police of course, maybe after a couple of hours under house arrest.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police in Wakefield on 1010 or by contacting them directly through their website. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers through 0800 555111.
