All eyes are on who will play the grown up versions of The Loser’s Club
Normally movie lovers reserve their excitement and attention for casting news exclusively for comic books movies, or failing that, whomever might be playing the next iteration of James Bond.
That rule doesn’t apply to It’s upcoming sequel, as all eyes are on who will play the grown up versions of The Loser’s Club for Chapter Two of the single most successful horror movie of all time.
JOE.ie reported a few months back that the movie’s director Andy Muschietti would be reuniting with Jessica Chastain – the star of his first big-screen horror movie, Mama – as she would be playing the grown up version of Beverly.
In the months since then, it has been revealed that James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) and Bill Hader (Hot Rod, Trainwreck) have also been tapped to play Bill and Richie, respectively.
This week, two more cast additions have been confirmed, with Variety reporting that Andy Bean (Allegiant, Here And Now) has been linked to play adult Stanley, while James Ransone (The Wire, Sinister) is lined up to play Eddie.
So all that is left from the Club to cast are Mike and Ben, but back when the first chapter was released, the young versions talked about their dream casting picks for the grown up versions, and they picked Chadwick Boseman and Chris Pratt, respectively.
Considering how great the cast has been so far, maybe it isn’t crazy to dream that big.
However, the one character that isn’t getting recast is Pennywise himself, as Bill Skarsgard will be returning to the role when It: Chapter Two arrives in cinemas on 6 September 2019.
