The singer’s last album was released in 2021, and it sounds like we’ll have a long wait for more music.

Adele has issued an update on her career and reveals she needs a ‘big break’.

The Hometown Glory singer is currently taking some time out from her Las Vegas Residency, which has been underway for two years and attracts people from all over the world.

Adele is set to return to the residency in just a couple of months, but has revealed that she isn’t enjoying “being famous” and has plans to take a “big break” before working on any new music.

In an interview with German magazine ZDF, the 36-year-old said: “I don’t have any plans for new music, at all.

“I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

That very much sounds like new music from the London-born singer is at least a couple of years away.

The singer’s last album 30 was released in 2021.

Her album before this, 25, was released in 2015, meaning fans were forced to wait a whole six years for new content from the Rolling in the Deep singer.

In the same interview, the star also admitted that she struggles with fame.

“I miss everything about before I was famous, I think probably being anonymous the most,” she admitted.

“I don’t like being famous. I love that I get to make music all the time whenever I want and people are receptive to it and like it, because that’s pretty unimaginable… that never happens to people.”

She added: “But, the fame side of it, I absolutely hate and I miss everything about before all of this had happened.

“The fact that people are even interested in my voice and my songs is pretty wild, I don’t think it ever gets normal, you know? So it’s worth it… (it’s just finding) the balance.”

Adele recently completed her 90th show at the 4,000-capacity Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

The show is due to conclude in November, and Adele said the experience had been emotionally draining.

“Even though it’s a very manageable size of crowd, it’s really been an emotional exchange,” she said.

“I’m sure I’ll feel even more like [that] every night after the shows in Munich. But it’s a positive thing. It’s just such an exchange of energy.”

The Tottenham native will play ten nights throughout August at Munich Messe, commencing on the 2nd and concluding on the 31st.
