Anchorman 3 might happen as Ron Burgundy looks set to move into the digital age

We're very aroused

We’re very aroused.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues may not have had the same amount of iconic catchphrases and hilarious moments as the original but we think that very few comedies could top the initial adventures of the Channel 4 News Team.

This being said, the sequel also had some bloody brilliant gags. Ron warning his six-year-old son to stay away from the perils of voodoo because in his own words “that sh*t will mess you up”, Champ Kind selling bats ‘chicken of the cave’ to his customers or the hilarious scene with Brian Fantana’s “world-famous Jimmy cabinet”.

Truth be told, we’re incredibly happy to see Ron and the boys make a return to the screen and director Adam McKay has shared some of his ideas with Yahoo.

“We talked about doing one that was about the rise of the new media.  I also thought there was something to the idea – and who knows, maybe we will do one some day – I also thought it’d be cool to have Ron Burgundy get embedded in the Iraq War. We kicked around that idea. But we’ve never got that serious about it, but it would have to be the next stage of what the media has become”.

“I think it’s the Internet”, he mused. “The only thing is by then Burgundy would be getting pretty old. So maybe it’s a movie we make in 10 years, when Will’s aged up and it actually makes sense that you can set it in 1997 or ’98”.

Ron Burgundy working for a website? We’re already making him a  job offer.
