It had been claimed he was ‘stressed’ and ‘having a meltdown’.
I probably don’t need to tell you that one half of TV duo Ant and Dec, Ant McPartlin, is having a pretty rough time of it at the moment.
Earlier this month it was reported that Ant is divorcing his wife of 23 years, Lisa Armstrong, with his marital troubles coming after he entered rehab for substance abuse treatment last year.
Ant’s spokesperson confirmed to the Sun On Sunday at the time that the TV presenter was “very sad to announce” that he is ending his marriage.
It was added: “Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made.”
But sadly, as they do whenever a celebrity has a low in their life, the British tabloids have been all over him like vultures: photoing him in the street and publishing gossip from ‘anonymous sources’.
But it seems the Daily Star went too far when they claimed the presenter was ‘stressed’ and ‘having a meltdown’ on its front page.
In response he posted a picture of the paper through the Ant and Dec official Twitter account, adding the caption: “What a load of sh#t!”.
As you can imagine, his fans were on his side.
One fan wrote: “Imagine being so bothered with someone else’s life who’s obviously struggling and the last thing they need is shitty headlines making them feeling worse? Today’s society is worrying”
While another added: “Good for you for speaking up! Wish they would leave you alone. We all know they are full of sh#t xx”
