Bad Boys sequels are like London buses.
You see substantially more of them in major metropolitan areas with a large number of cinemas per square mile.
Also, you wait ages for one to be announced and then more follow suit. Yes, that’s how the analogy is supposed to go.
We’ve had to make do with years of sub-standard buddy cop movies in the 13 years since Bad Boys II came out.
But now, not only are we getting a third instalment in the franchise, but number four has a release date as well.
And if you’re worried about the cast of the extra sequels, fear not – both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have signed up to extend the series.
But it’s not all good news, with the release of Bad Boys For Life (that’s the third film, for those wondering) being pushed back.
That film will now be released in January 2018, rather than the initial 2017 projection, with Bad Boys 4 set for May 2019, according to Variety.
And NME suggests that the new date for Bad Boys For Life could mean Smith – along with 90s partner-in-crime DJ Jazzy Jeff – could be set to perform at Glastonbury next year as The Fresh Prince.
