Paul Hollywood changed things up a bit and people were not impressed.
Bread week on The Great British Back Off is usually one of the best. They have three tasks as usual and create some wonderful bread designs.
Last year it gave us the bread lion so the bar was set considerably high for this year’s amateur bakers.
There's no point in #GBBO bread week. Nothing will ever beat bread lion. pic.twitter.com/1ohOr2WRFt

And while there were some marvellous breads made during the last task, it was the technical bake-off which has annoyed people. ‘Bake’ being the operative word.
People were raging that Paul Hollywood challenged the bakers to make a German bread, Dampfnudel, which is made through the technique of steaming. The bakers had to make 12 dough balls which were put into a pot and steamed until ready. They had to pair their Dampfnudel with fresh plum and custard sauces.
People were annoyed last night because, as Paul had pointed out, it was something that had never been done before on the show and viewers were quick to criticise that it was a ‘bake off’ and not a ‘steam off’.
It's not called Great British Bake Off – not Great British Steam Off. Sorry Hollywood, you've gone too far this time #GBBO
