2023 is looking up
If your life isn’t the same without Big Brother, you’ll be happy to know the show is making an “explosive return” to screens next year.
Reality TV show Big Brother was a staple of British culture for so long. That was until Channel 5 announced that its nineteenth series would be its last back in 2018.
But now, after almost four years, it’s back.
According to The Sun, Big Brother season 20 will air in autumn 2023, just after we all sit back to watch people chat rubbish for weeks on Love Island. There will also allegedly be a channel change, with the show moving to ITV.
“ITV is the home of big appointment telly,” an insider told the Sun. “They know better than anyone how to put on big live events.”
They continued: “They are really keen on getting the deal done on Big Brother, and hope to have something firm to announce soon.
“The talks are still at an early, and delicate, stage and the next few weeks will be key.”
The producers are allegedly “confident they are the ones who can return it to its legendary former glory” and with it bring a “legion of younger fans.”
“It has millions of fans and is one of the most iconic TV shows of its generation,” they added.
While Davina McCall, 54, originally hosted the famed competition show, Emma Willis, 46, was the show’s host for almost six years. Though nothing has been confirmed, Willis previously spoke on the show’s possible return back in February.
“I think it will come back when it’s ready, maybe it’s not ready yet,” she told Metro. ‘If you’re gonna do it again, you’ve got to do it fantastically well.’
