Marvel star Letitia Wright has been criticised for sharing a video that questions whether people should take a Covid-19 vaccine, and vaccines generally.
The video is from a YouTube series entitled ‘On The Table’. During the video, presenter Tomi Arayomi says: “I don’t understand vaccines medically, but I’ve always been a little bit of a skeptic of them.”
Wright shared the video on Twitter to her 367,000 followers, along with the prayer emoji, and has quickly come under fire for spreading unsubstantiated anti-vaccination material.
“This is extremely irresponsible for someone of your platform, please delete this!” replied TV writer and producer Brooke Obie.
The End of The F***ing World actor Alex Sawyer said that it was a “frustratingly irresponsible use of a platform.”
Wright responded to the criticism by tweeting: “If you don’t conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself….you get cancelled.”

The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for Covid-19 was authorised by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency for use in the UK on Wednesday, and is expected to start being rolled out next week.
UK health secretary Matt Hancock said he would be willing to take the vaccine live on TV if it would help improve public confidence. Former US Presidents Bill Clinton, Geroge W Bush and Barack Obama have all also confirmed they would take it on-camera.
Letitia Wright is best known for playing Shuri, the sister of Black Panther, and also reprised the role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
She has also appeared in films such as Ready Player One and My Brother The Devil, and on television in Doctor Who, Black Mirror and Top Boy.
