Boyfriends set to be ‘forced to watch’ and pretend they aren’t secretly enjoying themselves once again

The long-awaited conclusion to the trilogy everyone has been calling for is officially on its way. That’s right, Magic Mike 3 has been confirmed with Channing Tatum set to return to the role of Michael ‘Magic Mike’ Lane for one more dance.

The third and potentially final instalment of the series based around – not just a real figure but Tatum’s own time as a male stripper – was confirmed after the 41-year-old actor posted this picture of writer Reid Carolin and director Steven Soderbergh‘s script online.

It’s been six years since the last film, Magic Mike XXL, and as far as we know, it is still unclear whether the rest of the supporting cast will be returning as well. The first two films featured the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer and even retired wrestler Kevin Nash.

The only difference this time around is that the film won’t be getting a proper theatrical release; instead, Magic Mike’s Last Dance will premiere exclusively on the HBO Max streaming service where so many movies were released throughout the pandemic.

While a release date has yet to be announced, the last outing made over $120 million at the box office around the world, so the appetite is certainly there for Soderbergh to get the next one out sooner rather than later.

Tatum himself sounds just as excited, telling Deadline: “There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of Magic Mike with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max. The stripperverse will never be the same.”
