All you need to know about Christopher Nolan’s new film

A new Christopher Nolan film is never a bad thing

Warner Brothers have released the first details of Christopher Nolan’s new film, Tenet, and revealed that shooting has now begun on the project.

Nolan’s first film since the 2017 release of Dunkirk, Tenet will once again see Nolan exploring the concept of time, as he has regularly done in the past, most notably in Memento, Interstellar and Inception.

The film will be an “an action epic revolving around the international world of espionage”, but further plot details are unsurprisingly few and far between.

For the first time since The Prestige, Hans Zimmer will not be scoring a Christopher Nolan film, while Hoyte Van Hoytema (director of Dunkirk and Interstellar) returns.

In terms of a cast, we now know that it will feature John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman), Robert Pattinson (Twilight), and Elizabeth Debicki (Widows). Latest additions are Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Godzilla), Kenneth Branagh (All Is True).

Michael Caine (The Dark Knight) also returns for his seventh appearance in a Nolan film.

In terms of locations, the film is reported to be filmed across seven continents – in keeping with its international espionage focus – with the UK, Italy, India and Estonia all confirmed. It’s been reported that the film has already begun shooting, though exact locations have not yet been released.

Tenet arrives in cinemas on July 12 2020.
