Diesel is reprising his role as extreme sports-loving agent Xander Cage for the next installment of xXx.
The character, first portrayed by Diesel in 2002, is heading back to the silver screen and McGregor should be keeping him company.
Before McGregor slew Jose Aldo, he revealed Diesel had visited him in L.A in the lead-up to the fight to discuss various projects.
The actor has previous with the UFC, having secured former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey a cameo in Fast and Furious 7.
