Contestant on The Chase gives one of the worst wrong answers in the history of questions

Not only was the answer incorrect, the logic it was based on was questionable at best

There have been more than a few wrong answers on The Chase. There have been a handful of spectacularly wrong answers.

One of the answers given on yesterday’s episode of The Chase was so spectacularly wrong that it almost transcends the definition of the word itself.

Contestant Shauna was playing an absolute blinder of a game, but came unstuck when she was asked what colour the Statue of Liberty is.

For reference, here is a picture of the Statue of Liberty.

The question posed was: “The Statue of Liberty is a pale shade of what colour?” The available answers: A) Pink B) Brown C) Green.

Granted, Shauna didn’t have the Statue of Liberty in front of her to consult, or perhaps has never seen the most famous landmark in the United States, but nevertheless she wasn’t sure what the correct answer was.

“Isn’t it concrete? I was waiting on grey coming up,” she told Bradley Walsh.

Grey wasn’t coming up, so Shauna went with her gut. “On the grounds that pink’s my favourite colour, I chose pink,” she said.

It was, inevitably, the wrong answer.

Of course, people were a little surprised by this conclusion.

But then, a startling revelation came to light.

Well, well. Who knew?
