Every once in a while collaborations come along to make you go ‘eh?’ This is one.
It has to be a very special project for the legendary David Bowie to sign up, but the allure of a Spongebob Squarepants musical has managed that feat.
After taking ten years out, Bowie, who made a long awaited comeback in 2013 with ‘The Next Day’ will join a host of names including Cyndi Lauper, John Legend and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry to help bring the children’s favourite to Broadway in 2016.
It isn’t the first time Bowie, who is also working on a new stage production based on his 1976 film ‘The Man Who Fell To Earth’, has flirted with Spongebob – he also voiced a character on the Nickelodeon show in 2007.
We’re not sure what the famous underwater pineapple living sponge has over the singer, but whatever it is, we’d like to know.
