The footballing legend will get booted out of camp soon, evidence suggests
Footballing legend David Ginola has been a fan favourite and frontrunner on I’m A Celeb since the beginning.
Viewers and campmates have warmed to his calm, reassuring presence.
He was a favourite to make it to the final – however, new data suggests his time in the Welsh castle may soon be up.
Digital marketing agency Mediaworks analyses the popularity of the I’m A Celeb contestants every day, judging by how much fans are talking about them on social media.
Their data suggests Ginola won’t make it to the final, as he isn’t in the top three most talked-about contestants.
Former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin, Emmerdale star Danny Miller and Coronation Street veteran Simon Gregson are the three pegged to make it to the final, say Mediaworks.
However, Labrokes the bookmakers still have Ginola as frontrunner to take the crown as King of the Jungle this year.
The final of I’m A Celebrity takes place this weekend, Sunday December 12, so fans haven’t got long to wait to find out how well Ginola does.
Before becoming a reality TV star, the French former footballer played professionally for ten seasons in his home country. In 1995 he moved to the UK to play for Newcastle United. He went on to play for Spurs, Aston Villa and Everton before retiring in 2002.
Since then Ginola has worked as a football pundit. He has also briefly worked as an actor, after attending acting classes at prestigious drama school, RADA.
However his last appearance was in 2008 in US soap The Young and the Restless.
In May 2016, Ginola collapsed while playing a charity football match in France and revealed later he was clinically dead for eight minutes. “I just collapsed. It was a very frightening situation,” he explained on This Morning in 2018.
I’m A Celeb airs nightly on ITV at 9pm and the final airs on Sunday December 12.
